The JW Marriott Miami sits in the heart of Brickell, Miami's financial district, and handles one of the busiest event calendars of any hotel property in South Florida. Corporate galas, conferences, board retreats, product launches, and a steady rotation of upscale weddings run through this property year-round.
Producing events at the JW Marriott requires a different approach than a freestanding venue. The hotel has an in-house A/V partner embedded in the building — they manage the house audio and video infrastructure in the Grand Ballroom and meeting rooms, and any outside production team coordinates with them, not around them. We have done that and know how to make that coordination smooth for clients.
The Brickell location also matters for the type of event it attracts. Corporate events here often involve C-suite attendees, board-level programming, or large-format company meetings where every technical detail gets noticed. We bring gear and experience calibrated for that. Weddings at the JW tend to run on the formal side. The guest list is usually a mix of professionals who have been to a lot of events and know what they're looking at.
The JW Marriott's in-house A/V partner controls the house audio patch in the Grand Ballroom. That means the signal path for any room announcement or PA system runs through their infrastructure. We plug into that and take over the DJ and music side. Both teams know their role before the event starts. The way you avoid problems is by having that conversation in advance, not the night of. We initiate it early.
The JW Marriott carries COI minimums above standard Miami-Dade county requirements for outside vendors. We are already on file with this property. Special effects — cold sparks, CO2 jets, dancing on cloud — require advance written approval from JW event management and compliance with hotel fire safety requirements. We handle the submission and confirm everything is cleared before your event date.
What We Bring
Galas, conferences, product launches, and executive events are the core of what we do at the JW Marriott. LED video walls for presentations, IMAG camera systems for keynotes, professional audio for large rooms with complex speaker needs, branded lighting that works with the JW's existing chandeliers. We build production plans around the type of event, not a generic package.
The Grand Ballroom's integration with the in-house A/V system means the audio chain has more moving parts than a standalone venue. We coordinate signal routing with the hotel's A/V team before load-in, run redundant wireless microphone systems for speeches and toasts, and handle the acoustic challenges that come with a large hotel ballroom. Speeches land clearly. Music fills the room without distortion at the back.
Brickell corporate clients often want their brand built into the lighting. Gobo projection with company logos, color schemes tied to brand standards, pin spot chandeliers over centerpieces. We've done this in the JW ballroom and know how to set up within the hotel's existing lighting infrastructure rather than fighting it. Weddings here get uplighting and custom scenes that match the couple's palette and the JW's clean aesthetic.
Cold spark fountains are the most requested effect at JW Marriott events — for grand entrances, award reveals, and CEO announcements at corporate galas. CO2 jets and dancing-on-cloud low fog are also available with advance hotel approval. We submit the approval package to JW event management as part of our pre-event coordination and confirm clearance before your event date.
